About the Role
Build and scale Pluto's supplier ecosystem across electrical and mechanical domains for EV platforms, driving cost, supplier strategy, and prototype-to-production readiness.
Responsibilities
- Identify, onboard, and develop suppliers across electrical commodities such as PCBA, controllers, sensors, wiring harnesses, connectors, and EMS.
- Build supplier networks across mechanical commodities including fabrication, casting, machining, plastics, and sheet metal.
- Drive supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, and development expectations.
- Conduct supplier capability audits, capacity checks, and process reviews.
- Own sourcing strategy, cost-down initiatives, localization, value engineering, and BOM optimization.
- Lead commercial closures including pricing, contracts, NDAs, GPAs, and INCOTERMS.
- Enable sourcing for alpha, beta, and pilot builds while preparing suppliers for scale-up and mass production.
- Work with engineering teams on make-versus-buy decisions, design-to-cost, and supplier capability alignment.
- Monitor supplier KPIs, manage sourcing risks, and build alternate sourcing strategies.
- Coordinate with design, quality, manufacturing, homologation, planning, finance, and logistics teams.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of experience in EV, automotive, or electronics sourcing.
- Strong understanding of PCB assembly, SMT, ICs, passives, controllers, sensors, fabrication, casting, machining, plastics, and sheet metal.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, and IATF processes.
- Strong supplier development, negotiation, commercial closure, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Strong cost modeling, BOM analysis, and Excel-driven analytical skills.
- Comfort working with ERP or project tools such as SAP, Oracle, Zoho, Teamcenter, or JIRA.
